Introduction

A while back I posted a Yamaha YAS-207 soundbar reversing series.

A few days back I was contacted by Michael Obst, who recently got himself a slightly different Yamaha soundbar (SR-C20A).

Main

According to Michael the SR-C20A uses BLE (not BT classic) and has a different app than YAS-207.

But inspired by the YAS-207 guide, Michael was able to reverse engineer the protocol and later on build a web + MQTT interface. The MQTT is especially useful if you want to integrate with Home Assistant.

Anyway, his yamaha-sr-c20a GH repo has all the details.
